The fresh produce centre in the SaarLorLux region

In 1997 Saarbrücken wholesale market moved into newly built premises on the industrial estate Ost, where it has become well established. The market is the wholesale venue for fruit, vegetables and complementary goods in the fresh food sector for the whole of the Saarland and the SaarLorLux region. The modern, attractively designed market hall provides trading space of some 5,000 m² and the site occupied by the market is 33,000 m². The notable feature of the hall is that the roof's wooden framework is one of the largest such structures in Germany . More than 20 well-known importers and wholesalers handle some 70,000 tonnes of fresh produce every year. The varied range comes from all over the world, some goods are imported straight from Paris wholesale market.
